I just got back from Islip NY around noon. My head is still spinning from the contest. It was like a 4 day intesive university education in engine building. Number one and number two were a repeat of last year.
1. Jon Kaase
2. Charles and Donald Williams
3. BES Racing
Congratulations to these three teams who all build incredible engines. I thought ten teams would make it over the 1,000 point barrier and I think only 4 ever did. I think the winning score was a 1,043.
Tomorrow and for the next few days I hope to blab about:
- overview of contest
- famous quotes
- lessons learned
- next year
- data files
something along those lines. If you want to hear Kaase's engine run, I uploaded a video file to the moblog and it can be played with Quicktime. Jon Kaase once again proved why is he is the pro-level ninja master of Horsepower. :D

Speed Vision was there filming the finals for a new show called Lukas Oil Extreme. This video is not that clear but I was trying to catch their announcer as he pumped up the event.

I've never been to a competitive sporting event where everyone was kind as family. It really was very cool. I'm saving up the stories and will post as many as I can remember starting tomorrow.
